Dear fellow owners and neighbors. Sorry for the inconvenient delay in making a final, but necessary decision to cancel our contract with the asphalt company we had scheduled to do our parking lot. Your cooperation and willingness to deal with disruptions have been impressive and appreciated.
However, after dealing with postponements, phone calls that weren’t returned, physical no shows when work was to begin, broken equipment problems, and most importantly, traveling to view some previously completed work by our contractor that clearly was not holding up, the board had no choice but to pull away from our end of the deal. We do not want to stupidly waste any of your dues, and be assured that no monies were pre-paid on this endeavor.
My definition of satisfaction with a business deal is the good feeling you have when the final result equals or exceeds your
expectations. When it became clear, that such would not be the likely outcome here, we disappointedly had to cancel. We have a fiduciary responsibility to spend each dollar of your dues as wisely as possible, and will always strive to honor that duty.
The board knows how everyone was looking forward to the completion of this work. Be assured we will move quickly to put another agreement together asap, and we will get a result that will hold up for years, not months.
